words by Thomas Coffey 2010

I wrote a letter
This silence breaks my heart
Gave you some words
On an A4
Sun bleached yellow white
Black ink, clear font, size point 9 type
Black clouds, cold front, late friday in 09

I took the letter and gave it to the nurse
I heard when you read it the silence it did burst
I heard you cried. The tears welled up in your eyes!
And I know now, you care that I'm alive!

Don't know what happened
Freind-ships passing in the night
Know we're both hurting and I know that it's not right
To break the silence, I too burst out loud and cried
Blue eyes, no blue sky's
Why did this silence need arise

Grandfather clock sits in the dark
Another day, Another week, Yet... Another month,
Another long year in silence gone
This beaten broken heart beats on
Some say to forgive and forget, don't live a life in regret
In search happiness, not screaming si-o-lence!
Word frozen worlds both shivering and bare.
Times ticking, times ticking... Bye
Two hands are racing round the dile
I missed another Christmas
Another Birthday wish gone a rye
No language I know can fix this mess, but still I try
We live in separate worlds
The one in the past has died

When I was young I searched for answers in your arms
When I was young I searched for answers in your eyes
Blue eyes, I'm blue why?...did this silence need arise?
I cry, blue eyes
Blue eyes I cry when I miss you

On an A4 Sun bleached (repeated)
...the day love died
